ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The UW-Superior volleyball team dropped a pair of four-set matches to UW-Stout and 24th-ranked Bethel in the Bethel University Invitational at the Robertson Center on Saturday.

Against Stout, Junior Cassy Teff (Foley, Minn./Foley) notched her third triple-double of the season with 11 kills, 14 assists and 13 digs, while Megan Holz (Savage, Minn./Burnsville Senior) added a double-double of 20 assists and 11 digs.

Down two sets, UWS won the third to force a fourth. Superior opened the third set on a 7-1 run, which featured kills from Rilie Kupka (Eagan, Minn./Burnsville Senior) and Pyrd as well as a pair of service aces by Holz. Jordyn O'Brien (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) and Autumn Bremness (Cadott, Wis./Cadott) combined for a block that made it 14-9, two points later, O'Brien and Pryd did it again for a 16-9 advantage. UWS led Stout, 8-7, in blocks on the day.

Bremness and Maiana Stark (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) closed the set with consecutive kills, assisted by Teff and Jenna Anderson (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji), respectively. Stout, though, took the fourth set, despite the 'Jackets earning the first five points.

Against Bethel, Teff and Pryd each had double-doubles. Teff collected 13 kills and 12 assists and Pryd had 12 kills and 10 digs. Holz chipped in with 24 assists and nine digs versus BU.

Superior knotted the match, winning the second set after 12 ties and five lead changes, but Bethel, which improved to 9-2 overall with the victory, was too much.

The 'Jackets return home Tuesday to open Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play against Northland. First serve at Mertz Mortorelli Gym is 7 p.m.
