FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. – Sophomore
Taylor Burger (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) fired a 1-under-par 70 and the UW-Superior men's golf team carded a season-low 301, winning the North Central Invitational at Les Bolstad Golf Course on Wednesday.
The Yellowjackets, who were 17-over-par on the 6,603, par-71 course, placed five players in the top 10, helping them to a five-stroke victory over the tournament-host Rams.
Burger finished second by two strokes to Brady Raph of Minnesota Morris. Classmate
Cody Stanisich (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert Senior) was fourth overall at 4-over 75, while junior

Sam Albrecht (Gilbert, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert Senior) tied for 10th with rounds of 78.

Ian Bundy (Austin, Minn./Austin) shot 82, tying for 28th, rounding out Superior's top team in the event.

Conner Willard (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing) tied for 20th at 9-over 80 as part of the Yellowjackets' second team, which tied for sixth with Crown at 41-over 325. Sophomore
T.J. Sitek (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) posted 82 to tie for 28th with Bundy.

Trey Shaw (New Ipswich, N.H./Mascenic Regional) shot 14-over 85 in his first collegiate round for a 36th-place tie. Junior
Will Petersen (Aitkin, Minn./Aitkin) shot 88, tying for 40th.

Zack Mickelson (Barron, Wis./Barron), playing as an individual, shot 93 for 52nd place.
Northwestern finished third at 28-over 312 and Northland was fourth, one stroke behind the Eagles.
UWS is back in action in the 54-hole Twin Cities Classic on Saturday. The tournament, hosted by Gustavus Adolphus, will be played in Ramsey, Elk River and Wayzata, Minn.
