SUPERIOR, Wis. – Cade Carroll and Jacob Van Dam combined for 45 points as Crown defeated the UW-Superior men's basketball team 81-49 at Mertz Mortorelli Gymnasium on Wednesday.

Crown shot 57 percent from the floor as a team while Carroll scored a game-high 25 points and Van Dam added 20 as the Storm improved to 8-10 overall and 4-3 in the UMAC with the win.

Crown charged out to a 38-14 halftime lead before the Yellowjackets regrouped to play a much more clean second half. UWS (6-10, 3-3 UMAC) were lead by
Josef Fahrenholtz (Chatfield, Minn./Chatfield) with nine points and four rebounds, while
Eli Vogel (Appleton, Wis./Appleton West) tallied eight points, three boards and three steals.

Crown never trailed in the game and jumped out to a 15-4 advantage in the first eight and a half minutes. The Storm's largest lead of the night at 35 points came when Cole Anderson knocked down a jumper to make it 79-44 with 3:17 to play.

Superior shot just 32 percent for the game and outrebounded 40-28

UWS, which was playing its first home game in a 46-day span, returns to action Saturday when it hosts Northland on Alumni Day. Game time is set for 4:45 p.m.
