MORRIS, Minn. --Â Minnesota Morris hit over .300 in the first two sets, including .417 in the second alone, sweeping the UW-Superior volleyball team in the regular-season finale for both teams at Jim Gremmels Court on Friday.

Cassy Teff (Foley, Minn./Foley) led all players with 11 kills, adding seven assists, seven digs and two blocks, but it wasn't enough as the Cougars won, 25-13, 25-13, 25-21, to improve to 12-12 overall and 9-4 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference. The same teams are set to meet in the UMAC semifinals at Mertz Mortorelli Gymnasium Wednesday at 7 p.m., having split he season series. UWS pulled off a sweep in their first matchup on Sept. 30.

Jenna Anderson (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji) posted a match-high 16 digs and junior
Kaylin Plautz (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) a team-leading three blocks for Superior despite Minnesota Morris recording a .297 attack efficiency with 44 kills and 11 errors in 111 total attempts. UWS (15-12, 11-3) was held to .075 from the floor on 24 kills and 16 errors in 107 swings.

Freshman
Colleen Claude (Centuria, Wis./Homeschool) paced the Yellowjackets with 14 assists.

Minnesota Morris received 10 kills and 11 digs from Laura Wellbrock and another eight kills and match-high four service aces from Maggie Jones. McKenzie Newton chipped in 31 assists and eight digs, while Sydney Eckhoff scooped a match-leading 15 digs.

UWS was most competitive in the third set, holding a 10-9 lead with the help of a kill from Teff before the Cougars used a 7-1 run that included a Superior timeout to take a 16-11 lead. A Wellbrock kill for 19-13 forced the Yellowjackets' second timeout of the set, but Minnesota Morris was able to take the match after a timeout of its own at 22-19, winning five points later.
