SUPERIOR, Wis. -- Junior Phillip Eriksen (Skjetten, Norway/Lorenskog) scored two goals and an assist, and the UW-Superior men's soccer team scored four times in the first half on its way to a 6-1 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference semifinal victory over Crown at NBC Spartan Sports Complex on Wednesday.

The Yellowjackets got goals from five different players, cruising to their 15th consecutive victory over Crown. UWS (15-3-2) advances to host second-seeded Bethany Lutheran Saturday at 1 p.m. The Vikings beat Northland, 2-1, in the other semifinal match Wednesday.

Eriksen got UWS on the board just 1:59 into the match when he deposited a header off of a senior Blake Perry (Anoka, Minn./Anoka) cross at the far post part Crown goalkeeper Leo Roque. Sophomore Zach Tiemeyer (Waunakee, Wis./Waunakee Community) started the play and got the second assist on the play.

Perry scored his 14th goal of the season in the 11th minute as Eriksen's contested header was knocked down to Perry. His strike from the left side beat Roque to the top right of the net. Freshman Jake Kidd (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) added his ninth of the year in the 30th minute off of the rebound of a Brandon Conklin (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) shot to make it 3-0.

Freshman Isaac Becket (Surrey, England/The Sixth Form College Farnborough) scored his first collegiate goal 12 seconds before halftime on a Kidd assist to complete the four-goal period.

Eriksen chipped Roque in the 48th minute for a 5-0 lead before Crown (5-12-3) got on the board in the 55th through Fernando Arriaga. Sophomore Harry Ambler (Reading, England/Little Heath School) buried a penalty in the 67th minute to close the scoring.

UWS outshot the Polars, 25-3, overall and 13-1 in shots on target, holding 60 percent of possession for the match.

Alex Paredes (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) improved to 14-2-2 with the win in goal, making one save. Roque (5-11-3) made seven saves in 73 minutes, prior to giving way to Mateo Navarro the rest of the day.
