Tayler Kraemer (Spring Green, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) earned a win and a save in the circle and junior shortstop
Kaela Kraemer's (Spring Green, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) RBI double to broke a 2-2 tie in the sixth inning of game two as the UW-Superior softball team swept Concordia (Minn.) Thursday.

The Yellowjackets took the first game, 4-1, and the second, 3-2.

Game 1 -- UW-Superior 4, Concordia (Minn.) 1
Tayler Kraemer (Spring Green, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) limited the Cobbers to four hits and one earned run, striking out eight in her eighth complete game of the season in the opener.

The Yellowjackets got all the runs they needed in the first two frames, scoring once in the top of the first and twice in the second.  Freshman designated player
Zoe Thomson (Le Sueur, Minn./Le Sueur-Henderson) parked her second home run of the season over the fence in center field to lead off the sixth for the final margin.

UWS touched up Concordia starter Megan Gavin (5-2) for seven hits, three earned runs and one walk.Â

Kaela Kraemer (Spring Green, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) led off the game with a bunt single and stole both second and third. She came home on an error by Ellie Tofteland behind the plate with one out for a 1-0 advantage.

Freshman
Norah Schmitz (Waconia, Minn./Waconia) ripped a two-out double to left field in the second inning, scoring Kukowski and
Jessica Jacobson (Sturgeon Bay, Wis./Southern Door). Kukowski reached on a two-out walk and Jacobson started the rally with a single up the middle.

Tofteland's RBI single in the bottom of the third with two out platedKenzie Leither as the Cobbers cut into the lead. Concordia then loaded the bases in the fifth, but
Tayler Kraemer (Spring Green, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) worked her way out of the jam to keep the lead.

Emma Redlin began in the inning with a single to center, advancing second on an error. Landry Maragosfollowed with a successful sacrifice bunt coupled with an error at first base, putting runners on the corners. Maragos then stole second and Leither walked to load the bases.
Tayler Kraemer (Spring Green, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) induced a pop up from pinch hitter Vanessa Ramos and then fanned both Tofteland and Valerie Kolstad to end the threat.

The Cobbers put two on the bottom of the seventh with two out, but Kraemer got Tofteland to tap back to her to end the game.

Kaela Kraemer (Spring Green, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) paced the 'Jackets, going 2-for-4 with a run scored and four stolen bases. Schmitz finished 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Game 2 -- UW-Superior 3, Concordia (Minn.) 2
UWS got on the scoreboard first in the second game with a run in the top of the third as
Tiffany Kirk (McHenry, Ill./McHenry East) doubled to right, scoring
Kaela Kraemer (Spring Green, Wis./Wisconsin Heights), who reached on a fielder's choice. Kraemer advanced another fielder's choice before stealing third.

The Cobbers knotted the game at 1-1 when Maragos scored on a Kate Wensloff fielder's choice in the bottom of the inning with one out.

Superior retook the lead in the fifth. Schmitz doubled to center field to lead off the inning prior to
Kaela Kraemer's (Spring Green, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) single through the left side put runners on first and third. After
Kaela Kraemer (Spring Green, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) stole second,
Tayler Kraemer (Spring Green, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) reached on a fielder's choice that brought Schmitz in from third.

Concordia (6-8) responded with a run in its half of the frame to tie the game again on a sacrifice fly from Emma Bowman before the go-ahead double in the sixth

Allison Luoma (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) went the five innings scattering nine hits and two earned runs for the win, improving to 4-2 on the year. She struck out four and did not permit a walk.
Tayler Kraemer (Spring Green, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) threw the final two innings with a strike out and hit by pitch for the save.

Ramos(0-4) took the loss for the Cobbers lasting five innings, giving up five hits and one earned run with two walks and two strikeouts.

Kaela Kraemer (Spring Green, Wis./Wisconsin Heights), Kirk and Schmitz each collected a pair of hits in the win, with Kraemer swiping another four bags.

Next up, UWS (11-5) opens Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play April 2 at Martin Luther in a 1 p.m., doubleheader.
