SAUK CENTRE, Minn. -- The UW-Superior men's golf team finished 15th in the Saint John's Winter Classic at Lynx National Golf Course on Saturday, shooting 58-over-par 346.
 
The Yellowjackets were led by freshmen Ian Bundy (Austin, Minn./Austin) and Nate Burke (Duluth, Minn./Denfeld), who carded matching rounds of 85 for a 61st-place tie as UWS opened the spring portion of its schedule.
 
Sophomores T.J. Sitek (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) and Cody Stanisich (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert Senior) each shot 16-over 88 for a tie for 73 on the 7,000-yard, par-72 course.
 
Freshman Conner Willard (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing) rounded out the Superior contingent at 26-over 98 for 87th place.
 
Saint John's fired a 5-over-par 293 to win the event by one stroke over UW-Eau Claire. Gustatavus Adolphus was two shots off the pace. The Gusties' Jacob Pedersen won medalist honors with a 3-under 69.
 
UWS will compete in a second one-round event hosted by the Johnnies on Sunday. The Saint John's Spring Invitational goes off at 8:30 a.m., at Monticello Country Club.
