Sophomore
Jake Kidd (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) was tabbed Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while juniors
Michael Butterfield (Bovey, Minn./Greenway) and

Â
Kidd has had a tremendous start to the 2023 season for the Yellowjacket men's soccer team. In ten matches, the Superior native leads the 'Jackets in goals scored (six), points (13), and is currently in third for total shots (28). This past week Kidd earned a hat trick and tallied an assist against Northland, leading UWS to a 6-2 victory Wednesday. Against Martin Luther, he tallied another goal in a 7-0 route against the Knights.
Â
Butterfield picked up his second award for runner of the week for his efforts at the Blugold Invite Friday. He led the Yellowjackets with a time of 26:50.9, which is Butterfield's season best. This is also a season best time across the UMAC up to date. His time led the next best runner in the conference by nearly a minute in an event that included seven out of eight teams within the conference.
Â
Barker collects her third runner of the week citation, finishing the Blugold Invite with a 24:12.6. This time is the second-fastest finish of her career, which was 43 seconds faster than the next conference runner. All but one team from the circuit was present at the Blugold Invite Friday, and Barker's time was the fastest throughout the circuit's participants.
