SUPERIOR, Wis. - Yellowjacket Athletics and Superior Choice Credit Union have announced a collaboration to create a series of family events taking place at UW-Superior throughout the 2023-24 year.

The events, branded Yellowjacket Family Fun Days, will take place monthly at the Marcovich Wellness Center on the UW-Superior campus. Yellowjacket Family Fun Days are free for all and open to the public. No advanced registration is necessary, just arrive, check in and enjoy a morning with the student-athletes of UW-Superior.

"Serving our community is a proud tradition of Yellowjacket Athletics. We are excited tolaunch this new series with our partners at Superior Choice Credit Union to help connect with local youth while having some fun doing so," said UW-Superior Director of Athletics Nick Bursik.

Yellowjacket Family Fun Days will run one Saturday a month, from 9 a.m. until noon in the Dr. Lydia C. Thering Fieldhouse of the Marcovich Wellness Center. Members of UW-Superior sports teams will be at each event, interacting and engaging with families from Superior and the surrounding areas.

Activities will include floor hockey, basketball, soccer, tennis, volleyball and races. Batting cages will be available, as will yard games and crafts. Attendees will receive an autograph card that will also include a coupon for a free scoop of custard from Culver's in Superior as well as a free youth ticket to a future Yellowjacket home game.

"SCCU is excited to continue our robust partnership with UW-Superior and collaborate on this fun-filled family event," said Bre Wessberg, SCCU community development manager. "I'm also personally excited about this as a mom of two young daughters. I love that we are offering families a healthy opportunity to interact with UWS student-athletes, SCCU employees and community members."
