BECKER, Minn. – The Yellowjacket men's golf team remained in first place through round two of the Upper Midwest Athletics Conference (UMAC) Championships. Friday morning the 'Jackets first tee time was at 11a.m. in Becker, Minn. at Pebble Creek Golf Club.  

In round two of play Friday, after a strong opening round Thursday, the Yellowjackets shot 315 for a two-day score of 616, with three individuals sitting in the top five after 36 holes.
 
Nate Burke (Duluth, Minn./Denfeld), with a strong performance in the opening round shooting and even par round of 72, would shoot a 77 today, just five over par, while remaining at the top of the leaderboard in first place. Despite starting the day with three bogeys on the first three holes, Burke would later strike a total of three birdies of the day.
 
Teammates Conner Willard (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing) and Andrew Rude (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) tied for third place both shooting eleven over par. Willard would shoot a score of 80 in round two. Rude would come in with an 81 despite shooting bogies on the first two holes this afternoon. He would later strike a birdie on the fifth hole.
 
Blu Anderson (Amery, Wis./Amery) was not far behind, shooting a 77 today and 13-over 157 through 36 holes. Anderson would also shoot bogies on the first two holes this afternoon but would strike a birdie on his next hole.  On the tenth hole Anderson would card his second birdie of the day. Teammate T.J. Sitek (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) is tied for 28th place and shot a 99 today, tallying one birdie this afternoon.
 
The Yellowjackets would lead the University of Northwestern by 14 going into the final round. North Central, Martin Luther and Crown round out the top five.
 
The third and final round of the UMAC Championships continue Saturday at Pebble Creek Golf Course. Tee times are to begin at 11:00 a.m.
