SUPERIOR, Wis. -- Sophomore
Katie Dobson (Black River Falls, Wis./Black River Falls) scored a career-high 18 points to spark the UW-Superior women's basketball team to a 69-35 win over Martin Luther at Mertz Mortorelli Gymnasium on Friday.
Dobson shot 7-for-9 from the field and 4-of-6 from distance, helping the Yellowjackets win their second consecutive game. UWS (7-11, 5-4 UMAC) shot 52.6 percent in the first quarter, jumping out to a commanding 27-3 advantage after one period. Superior scored the first 20 points of the game in 6:36 and coasted the rest of the way for the season-series sweep.

Erika Mattson (Ely, Minn./Ely Memorial) scored a career-high 10 points on 5-for-10 shooting. Sophomore
Elise Besonen (Ewen, Mich./Ewen-Trout Creek) recorded 10 points of her own with three assists and three steals, while senior
Kaelyn Christian (St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville Senior) added nine points, nine rebounds, three assists and two steals.
UWS also limited the Knights (8-12, 1-8) to single digits in the third quarter as MLC connected on just two field goals in 11 attempts in that stanza.
The 'Jackets led, 40-15, at halftime and extended the advantage to 59-20 heading into the fourth quarter.
All 12 players that saw the floor scored for the Yellowjackets. Superior converted 23 Martin Luther turnovers into 42 points and scored 34 points in the paint in the win.
Jordyn Heckendorf led the Knights with eight points and three rebounds in the loss.
