SUPERIOR, Wis. – The Yellowjacket men's soccer team have displayed some of the most prolific offensive outputs in program history during the 2024 season. UWS has led all of NCAA Division III in goal differential, points-per-game, scoring offense, total goals, and total points in recent weeks.
Â
One of the main contributors to the 'Jackets' offensive success has come from Superior native
Jake Kidd (Superior, Wis./Superior), who leads all of Division III in total goals.
Â
He would once again play a factor into the Yellowjackets' match on Saturday, with the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) postseason championship on the line.
Â
Taking on Bethany Lutheran College for the fourth consecutive season, Kidd rifled two goals in the first six minutes of play, pacing the Yellowjackets to their eighth UMAC championship.

Match Notes
- Just three minutes into the contest, the Yellowjackets logged their first of the match as Josh Bellamy (High Wycombe, England/FAB Football Academy) sent a feed to Kidd who fired his 24th of the campaign. Three minutes later he would strike again, this time garnering an assist from Aaron Shartin-Folkert (Hudson, Wis./Somerset).
- The Vikings would cut the 'Jackets' lead by one after Daniel Almeida sent one to the back of the net in the ninth minute of play.
- UWS sent a pair of goals past Vikings' goalkeeper Nick Lundberg in just two minutes. Shartin-Folkert sent his fifth of the year from Zach Tiemeyer (Waunakee, Wis./Waunakee Community), then Freddy Watson (Wendover, England/Berkshire College of Agriculture) rifled one into the back of the net for a 4-1 advantage.
- Offensively things quieted down for the remainder of the half, but the physicality tuned up, as fouls were 6-3 Bethany Lutheran.
- After the halftime period the Yellowjackets continued to pour it on offensively, as Isaac Becket (Surrey, England/The Sixth Form College Farnborough) joined the scoring party for his third of the year. He was assisted by Watson in the 66th minute of play.
- Despite allowing a goal in the 75th minute, the Yellowjackets buried their sixth and final goal of the match, as Phillip Eriksen (Skjetten, Norway/Lorenskog) took feeds from Orlando Fertleman (London, England/Aldenham) and Finley Purnell (Northampton, England/Southam College) for his fifth of the campaign to secure the program's eighth postseason trophy.
- Alex Paredes (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) logged another two saves under his belt, getting the start in net for UWS.
