NAPLES, Fla.—The Yellowjacket softball team took the field Friday, March 15 for the last day of play of their spring break trip in Florida. The 'Jackets would first see Lesley University, they took a lead late then blew the game open to a 11-1. For the final game of the week, they would see Panthers of Greenville University, who they would dominate 10-1.
Game One Notes
- The Yellowjackets would score the first run of the game in the third inning when Zoe Thomson (Le Sueur, Minn./Le Sueur-Henderson) would hit it to right field scoring Carly Stuckmayer (Delano, Minn./Delano Senior).
- Lesley would score in the fourth inning to tie the game 1-1. Â
- In the fifth inning Izzy Lingle (Enumclaw, Wash./Enumclaw) would hit a double to center field. Lingle would score in the game winning run giving the 'Jackets a 3-1 lead.
- Larrisa Snyder would hit a two-run-inside-the-park home run.
- The Yellowjackets would proceed to score eight runs in the sixth inning.
- With two outs in the sixth inning, Lily Hanson (Cloquet, Minn./Esko) would hit a bases-clearing double to left, scoring Karen Balabon (Elk River, Minn./Elk River), Mykenzie Leccia and Indigo Fish (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) to end the game.
- Emma Pillion (Ottawa, Ill./Ottawa Township) would come in for the last three innings earning the win in the circle. Pillion's record is now 2-3.
Game Two Notes
- The Yellowjackets would start the scoring in the third inning, scoring eight runs.
- Greenville would score their sole run in the third inning, to make it an 8-1 game.
- Leccia would double, hitting the ball deep into left field scoring Fish and Thomson.
- The Yellowjackets would have a total of eight RBI.
- Bella Garley (Albuquerque, N.M./Porter (Tex.)) got the start in the circle today, earning the win. Her record is now 4-2 on the season.

The Yellowjackets are back in action Friday, March 22 at home at the at the NBC Spartan Sports Complex. The 'Jackets are set to see Upper Midwest Athletic Conference opponent, Northland College for a 3 p.m. start. Saturday, March 23 they will play Northland in a doubleheader set for an 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. start.
