2024 Slate Released for Men’s Soccer

SUPERIOR, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Superior men's soccer team revealed its 2024 schedule in an announcement Thursday. Under head coach Joe Mooney's tutelage the Yellowjackets have held a firm grasp on the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) in recent years, and they will look to return to postseason play this fall.
 
UWS will play three friendlies before embarking on the regular season campaign, beginning on the road with UW-River Falls Monday, Aug. 19 at 5:30 p.m. UWS will then play a doubleheader Northern Michigan at 11 a.m. and St. Scholastica at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 26 in Superior.
 
The Yellowjackets will take on five non-conference opponents to commence regular season play. Their first regular season test will come against Augsburg on Friday, Aug. 30. The opening kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Edor Nelson Field.
 
The 'Jackets come home Friday, Sept. 6 and Saturday, Sept. 7 to face Carleton College and UW-Platteville, respectively. Friday's match is set for 4 p.m., while Saturday's contest is slated for 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11 marks a meeting between St. Scholastica, with a 2 p.m. kickoff at Kenny Harkins Field before UW-Eau Claire hosts the Yellowjackets Saturday, Sept. 14 at 4 p.m.
 
UMAC action begins at home for UWS Wednesday, Sept. 18 with a 7 p.m. kickoff versus North Central. Saturday, Sept. 21 will see Minnesota Morris come to town for a 4:30 p.m. match, which also serves as the grand opening of Superior Choice Credit Union (SCCU) Stadium, the future home of Yellowjacket soccer.
 
The 'Jackets head to Reynolds Field to take on Northwestern Tuesday, Sept. 24 for a 7 p.m. kickoff before traveling to Bethany Lutheran Saturday, Sept. 28 for a 4:30 p.m. meeting with the Vikings at Scheels Field.
 
Northland comes to town Wednesday, Oct. 2 for a 7 p.m. contest before the Yellowjackets embark on a four-game road trip, beginning with Martin Luther College on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8 marks a contest with the Polars of Crown College, slated for 7 p.m. at Old National Bank Stadium. Conference play continues Oct. 12 with a 1 p.m. kickoff against Minnesota Morris.
 
Sunday, Oct. 13 marks a non-conference match against Gustavus Adolphus, slated for 1 p.m. at Gustie Soccer Field. Three days later, the Eagles of Northwestern travel to the Twin Ports for a 4:30 p.m. contest before Bethany Lutheran comes to Superior Saturday, Oct. 19 for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
 
UWS travels to Eliot Park Field Tuesday, Oct. 22 to take on North Central at 1 p.m. before returning home Saturday, Oct. 26 for a meeting with Martin Luther. The final regular season road trip for the Yellowjackets comes against Northland, scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 4:30 p.m.
 
The 'Jackets are set to round out the regular season Saturday, Nov. 2 as they take on Crown at 1 p.m.
 
The Yellowjackets wrapped up the 2023 campaign with a record of 17-4-2 and a conference record of 13-1. Riding a four-match winning streak heading into the postseason tournament, the Yellowjackets successfully defended their UMAC Championship and collected the program's seventh straight title. Advancing to the first round of the NCAA Division III Regionals, the Yellowjackets fell to St. Olaf.
