NEW ULM, Minn. – The Yellowjacket men's basketball team upped their winning streak to four games Saturday, as they traveled to LSC Gymnasium to face Martin Luther. Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play has favored the 'Jackets in the early stages of the season, and after only losing the lead once against the Knights, they rolled to a 91-62 victory on the road.

The senior trio of
Reid Johnson (Chatfield, Minn./Chatfield),
J'Vaun Walker (Rosharon, Texas/Manvel) and
Andrew Kunelius (Caledonia, Minn./Caledonia) spearheaded the offense, as each player racked up double-digit points to pace the Yellowjackets to its seventh overall victory of the 2024-25 campaign.

Game Notes
- Superior saw two points courtesy of Kunelius in their first possession, leading to a six-point lead at 14-8. Walker, Johnson and Evan Bennett (Superior, Wis./Superior) all contributed during the early stages of the half.
- Back-to-back three pointers from the Knights gave them a one-point lead for a matter of seconds before Kunelius sent a pass to Johnson and drained a three pointer, sitting at 20-18.
- Walker, alongside Joey Barker (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) began to heat up offensively, boosting the Yellowjacket lead to 11 at 33-22. Action continued with Max Briggs (Woodbury, Minn./New Life Academy) scoring the next seven points, pacing Superior to another 11-point lead at 45-34 heading into the break.
- UWS continued to add to its lead in the second half, with Johnson scoring the first six points on layups. After the Knights stopped Johnson's fourth layup attempt, Kunelius grabbed the offensive board and finished the score to garner a 55-37 lead.
- MLC hit consecutive threes before fouling Micah Young (Minneapolis, Minn./Edison), who drained both free throws before Walker did the same. This led to the Yellowjackets capitalizing on a trio of Knights' turnovers, leading by as much as 28 points at 74-46.
- Late in the game, Eddie Mittermeyer (Cadott, Wis./McDonnell Central) checked in and instantly hit a shot beyond the arc. Later he took a pass from Jackson Allfrey (West Jordan, Utah/Copper Hills) and drew a foul while finishing a fastbreak layup. Mittermeyer completed the three-point play, leading to Amory Peterson (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Champlin Park) logging the final points of the afternoon with a midrange jumper.
- Johnson and Walker led with 18 and 16 points, respectively, while Kunelius finished with 11. Barker and Briggs each garnered nine points, as well.
- Superior shot 47.1 percent from the field, beating Martin Luther's mark of 38.9 percent.
- The Yellowjackets logged 35 points off turnovers Saturday. Furthermore, their bench was responsible for 37 points.
