Superior Knocks Off St. Scholastica 2-0

SUPERIOR, Wis. - The Yellowjacket women' soccer team headed across the bridge to take on rival St. Scholastica in their annual battle for the golden anchor trophy. In their last four matchups with CSS, the 'Jackets have won three and tied another keeping the trophy on the Wisconsin side of the bridge. After today's match, the Yellowjackets would find themselves holding the trophy for another year as they took down the Saints 2-0.

Match Notes:

  • The 'Jackets second goal came off a header from Claire Loria (Iowa City, Iowa/Iowa City) as she took a pass off a free kick from Larson in the 64th minute.

  • UWS outshot CSS 25-17 on the afternoon and held a 15-9 advantage in shots on goal. Larson led the 'Jackets with five shots while Brynn Johnson (South Range, Wis./Superior) and Julia Lindow (Richfield, Minn./Richfield) had three.
