NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Saturday the Yellowjacket men's soccer team entered the NCAA Tournament for the ninth consecutive season, following an overtime victory over Bethany Lutheran in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) title match. Their first-round opponent was a familiar one, and the venue was once again, a familiar one.
It was the third-straight season where the Yellowjackets and St. Olaf have met in the national tournament, as well as the third consecutive year where the Yellowjackets have been placed in the St. Olaf pod.
Earlier this season the Oles were ranked 22nd in the land and received their first loss of the season to UW-Superior, falling 3-2 at SCCU Stadium. Two months later the teams would meet again, and St. Olaf improved their national ranking throughout the season to No. 4 in the land. The Oles utilized their home pitch nicely, not allowing a single shot on net to defeat Superior 3-0.

- A pair of first-half goals gave St. Olaf an early lead, courtesy of Caspar Olseth and Kymani Chitulangoma.
- The final blow came at the 78th minute, as Charlie Piller took a cross from outside the box and buried the third Ole goal.
- UWS was limited to just five off-target shots on the afternoon.
- Patrick Sessions (Brighton, England/Brighton, Hove & Sussex Sixth Form College) took the loss in goal, making three saves.
The Yellowjackets finish the season 16-7 overall.
