CHICAGO, Ill. – The Yellowjacket women's soccer team advanced to their fifth NCAA Tournament following a 1-0 victory over Northwestern in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Championship match.
In the first round of the national tournament, Superior was placed in the UChicago pod, taking on the regional-host No. 7 Maroons. UChicago certainly utilized their home turf, earning a 5-0 victory to move onto the second round.
Match Notes
- The lone goal in the first half came off the foot of Kamiryn Braxton Grimes, who struck her fifth of the season in the fifth minute.
- Four more goals came in the second half, as Indira Naylor logged two.
- The Maroon backline held their own, limiting the Yellowjackets to just four shots and three shots on target. Brynne Crystal (Wayzata, Minn./Wayzata), Niamh Larson (Brookfield, Ill./Riverside Brookfield), and Charlie Lindsley (Rapid City, S.D./Stevens) accounted for the shots on net.
- Quinn Clark (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East) made seven saves on the day against a tough UChicago frontline. She finishes her Yellowjacket career as the program leader in goalkeeper shutouts with 22.
The Yellowjackets end the 2025 season with an 11-8-4 overall record.
