SAINT PAUL, Minn. - The Yellowjackets women's hockey team took an afternoon trip down to TRIA Rink in St. Paul to play Hamline. Unfortunately, the Pipers were able to keep UWS under wraps as they beat the 'Jackets 9-1.  

Game Notes:

• Hamline scored two goals in the first period, four in the second and three in the third for a total of nine, all of which came from different scorers.  

• The Yellowjackets got their first goal of the season from Brook Monicken (Hudson, Wis./Hudson) with three seconds left in the third period. She was assisted on the goal by Brooke Bugos (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial).  

• The 'Jackets won 28 of 60 faceoffs in the contest with Ashton Parnell (Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti) winning 13.  

• Leading the way for UWS in shots with four was Veda Roeske (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater Area).  

• Jayda Moyer (Albert Lea, Minn./Albert Lea) took the loss in net playing the first two periods, making 26 saves before being replaced by Maddie Wostrel (Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park) who made 12 saves.  

The Yellowjackets return to the ice on November 21 for their first conference game against WIAC newcomer Beloit. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Woodman's Center in Janesville, Wis.
