SUPERIOR, Wis. - The Yellowjacket men's basketball team hosted Bethel in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon. The Royals were able to take down the 'Jackets by a final score of 73-66.

Bethel was able to gain an early ten-point advantage over Superior. Eddie Mittermeyer (Cadott, Wis./McDonnell Central Catholic) scored a bucket; Gage Braiedy (Mora, Minn./Mora) secured an old fashioned three-point play, and Hayden Quimby (Menasha, Wis./Xavier) nailed a three-point shot to get UWS going.

The Royals opened a 16-point lead over the 'Jackets, but UWS was able to chip into the lead as Kenny Garth (Kenosha, Wis./Westosha Central) knocked down two three pointers and Lucas Glaus (Elmwood, Wis./Elmwood) scored a layup on a back door cut to send UWS into the half down 34-30.

UWS was able to tie the game in the second half as Rocco Paulson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East) came alive, and Micah Young (Minneapolis, Minn./Thomas Edison) finished a three-point play to tie the game at 42.
Superior returns to the court on Monday, Dec. 29 to host Saint Mary's. Opening tip-off inside Mertz Mortorelli Gymnasium is scheduled for 6 p.m.
