MENOMONIE, Wis. – Following a loss to UW-River Falls Friday, the Yellowjacket men's hockey team had a quick turnaround Saturday, as they traveled to the Fanetti Community Center to face UW-Stout. Both squads played well throughout the contest and deployed balanced attacks, but the Blue Devils struck gold in the third for a pair of goals that led them to victory by a score of 2-0.

Game Notes
- Both teams went over 50 minutes without scoring until Maksis Brimanis sent one past Yellowjacket goaltender Kobe Grant (Vernon, British Columbia/South Kamloops Secondary) to break the scoreless tie at 16:07.
- Shortly after the Yellowjackets opted for an extra skater to level the score, but William Schofield intercepted a back-handed pass and sent one across the length of the ice to secure a 2-0 victory.
- Grant finished the night with 22 saves, while Stout's goaltender Sebastian Monaco had 20.
- Alexey Yarmulnik (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge) and Chris Ishmael (Oakville, Ontario/Abbey Park Secondary School) led with nine and eight faceoffs won, respectively.
- AJ Reed (Milwaukee, Wis./Menomonee Falls) led with four shots, while three other Yellowjackets logged three.
- With the losses on the weekend, the Yellowjackets now rank fifth in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC), while UW-Stout ranks second.

Superior (5-5-1, 1-3-0 WIAC) hits the road next weekend for another WIAC matchup with Beloit. The opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m. inside the Woodman's Center in Janesville.
