SUPERIOR, Wis. – The UW-Superior women's hockey team played No. 1-ranked UW-River Falls on Saturday at Wessman Arena for a lone game this weekend to wrap up the three-game season series. Despite a determined effort, the Yellowjackets were unable to slow down the Falcons, falling 7-2.
The loss drops UW-Superior to 9-9-2 overall and 1-6-0 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC).
Molly Black (Devils Lake, N.D./Devils Lake) made 47 saves in goal for the Yellowjackets, facing heavy offensive pressure from the Falcons. Black, now 6-5-1 on the season, kept UWS in the game, but UW-River Falls' depth proved too much to handle.
