UW-Superior Maintains First Place in Jerome Kruse Trophy Standings

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced an update in the 2024-25 Jerome Kruse Trophy Standings Monday, and the Yellowjackets still sit atop the conference in first place.

UW-Superior has accumulated 71.5 points from the fall and winter seasons, adding championships in women's basketball and men's indoor track and field for a conference-leading six titles.

Northwestern holds in second place with 63.5 points before Crown (49), Martin Luther (43.5) and Bethany Lutheran (42) follow. Minnesota Morris holds sixth place with 41.5 points, while North Central has accumulated 33.5 points before Northland rounds out the league with 6.5 points.

The award is in remembrance of Jerome Kruse, longtime athletic director at Northwestern and Martin Luther. The conference first awarded the trophy in the 1996-97 season, recognizing the top athletics department in the circuit each year.

UWS captured the Kruse Trophy for the first time in the 2021-22 season and have repeated as champions in both the 2022-23 and the 2023-24 seasons.
