Yellowjackets Hold Steady, Tie for 15th at Forester Spring Invitational

MUNDELEIN, Ill. – The Yellowjacket men's golf team capped off a solid weekend at the Forester Spring Invitational Saturday, hosted by Lake Forest College at Countryside Golf Club. Facing a deep 20-team field that included several regionally-ranked programs, UW-Superior stayed consistent across both rounds, carding team scores of 304 and 305 to finish tied for 15th place with Carroll University at 609, 33 strokes over par.

The Yellowjackets showed poise on the second day, holding their position in the standings while competing in brisk spring conditions.

Leading the way for Superior once again was senior Conner Willard (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing), who fired rounds of 72 and 74 to finish at 146, two strokes over par for the tournament. Willard's two-day effort earned him a tie for 26th overall in a field of 107 players. The senior continued to anchor the Yellowjacket lineup with his steady play, picking up multiple birdies in both rounds and staying composed around the greens.

  • Blu Anderson (Amery, Wis./Amery) showed flashes of strong shot-making, recording matching rounds of 78 to finish at 156, twelve strokes over par. Anderson tied for 79th place and remained in control during both rounds, keeping the Yellowjackets in contention for a top-15 finish.
