MENOMONIE, Wis. – Sunday morning the Yellowjacket women's golf team teed off in their final event of the 2024-25 season, seeing action at the UW-Stout Spring Invite at the Tanglewood Greens Golf Course.
All participants were members of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC), which feature two teams ranked within the top 50 in all of NCAA Division III. In a field of tough competition, the Yellowjackets shot a collective 354 for ninth place.
Tournament Notes
- The 'Jackets were led by Olivia Weyenberg (Stacy, Minn./North Branch) on the day, shooting a 12-over 83. She fired seven pars and birdied the par-three eighth.
- Karin Hill (Duluth, Minn/Denfeld) shot an 18-over 89, ending her afternoon with a 45/44 split. She also birdied, shooting one under on the par-three 12th.
- Shortly behind Hill was Ashton Parnell (Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti), who garnered 42/48 split for a round of 90.
- Both Lydia Saxin (Duluth, Minn./Denfeld) and Allie Maschke (Merrill, Wis./Merrill) rounded out the Yellowjackets for the day, each firing a 46/46 split for a 21-over 92. Maschke carded a birdie on the par-five fourth, as well.
- Ellie Johnson of No. 47 UW-Whitewater took home the individual title after shooting three over Sunday. She parred 15-of-18 holes to come away with the victory.
- The host Blue Devils, who currently rank 40th in the country, finished in a tie with the Warhawks for the top spot. Both of their A teams shot 32 over to sit atop the rest of the participants.
This tournament wraps up the 2024-25 campaign for the Yellowjackets.
