SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) released its winter and spring academic awards in an announcement Wednesday, and the Yellowjackets sent a league-leading 152 student-athletes to academic honors. This marks the second consecutive year UW-Superior has paced the charge in academic plaudits for the semester.
Individuals who earn a 3.5 or better grade point average (GPA) or better during their respective semesters of competition are recognized with the prestigious individual honor, while the team with the top average GPA in each sport is also recognized.
A new record was set for the conference as there were 772 individual academic all-conference honorees for the 2024-2025 winter and spring sports cycle, besting the previous record of 754 set a year ago. Of the 772 individual award winners this winter and spring, 205 had a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
Winter/spring student-athletes were acknowledged for academic achievement in the sports of baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's indoor track & field, men's and women's outdoor track & field, softball, and men's and women's tennis.
Women's basketball, men's and women's indoor track & field, baseball, and men's outdoor track & field each picked up team awards for carrying the most individual academic all-conference honorees. Baseball led the department with 23.
