SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced their nominees for the Division III Commissioners Association (D3CA) Tuesday, and Yellowjacket graduate Jenna Anderson (volleyball) was named as one of two league nominees.
The D3CA presents several awards related to student-athlete achievements. The D3CA Student-Athlete of the Year award is based on academic achievement, athletics excellence, service and leadership, and a personal statement submitted by each nominee. Graduating seniors were the only student-athletes eligible for this award.
Anderson, who was announced as the league's NCAA Woman of the Year nominee last week, has displayed a strong career as a Yellowjacket student-athlete.
Anderson was regarded as one of the NCAA Division III's best defenders in 2024, ending the year ranking first in digs (805) and second in digs per set (6.65). After being named the league's player of the year and defensive player of the year, she was named to both the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District and Academic All-America Teams with a 3.91 grade point average. Additionally, Anderson was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Honorable Mention All-American list. Off the court, she served as the President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and participated in numerous community service events throughout the Superior area.
Anderson has now moved to the regional selection. Commissioners within each of the ten regions will now conduct the initial round of voting to select their region's top male and female honorees.
