UMAC Names Jenna Anderson its NCAA Woman of the Year Nominee

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) revealed Thursday that Jenna Anderson, a 2025 graduate from the Yellowjacket volleyball team, has been named the league's honoree for the NCAA Woman of the Year award.

The NCAA Woman of the Year program was established in 1991 and honors the academic achievements, athletics excellence, community service and leadership of graduating female college athletes from all three divisions.

Eligible female student-athletes are nominated by their member schools. Each conference office then reviews all nominees and submits its conference nominee(s) to the NCAA. From there, the NCAA Woman of the Year selection committee will then identify the top 30 – 10 from each division and select the eventual winner.

Anderson wrapped up a stellar senior season for the Yellowjackets. Prevailing as one of the nation's best defenders, she appeared in all 32 matches and ended with 805 digs, leading all of NCAA Division III and ranking second in digs per set (6.65). Superior capped the 2024 season with one of its winningest seasons, collecting a 24-8 record while serving as one of the nation's best defensive squads.

Anderson collected a slew of postseason awards, being named the league's player of the year and the circuit's defensive player of the year. She also picked up a spot on the All-UMAC First Team, the fourth all-conference honor of her collegiate career.

Additionally, she was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District squad before being named the first Yellowjacket volleyball player to receive a spot on the Academic All-America Third Team. The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) followed with a spot on their All-Region First Team, along with an Honorable Mention All-American citation.

Anderson logged a 3.91 grade point average while graduating with Bachelor of Science degrees in finance and accounting, receiving a spot on the institution's Dean List and the UMAC Academic All-Conference list in all four years at UW-Superior. She was the recipient of multiple scholarships throughout her undergraduate career. Outside of athletics, she was named the President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). There she began three tournaments in volleyball, spike ball and cornhole, along with participating in multiple community service events, including Caroling for Cans, bell ringing for the Salvation Army, and delivering staff appreciation cards.

Off campus, she has worked as an intern with Cenovus Energy for the last two years and is a prominent figure in volunteer work, with Grandma's Marathon, the Special Olympics, and Great Lakes Elementary School to name a few.

Anderson now moves to the next round of voting for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award. The ultimate winner will be recognized during an awards presentation at the NCAA Convention.
