LA CROSSE, Wis. - The Yellowjacket women's soccer team hit the road Tuesday to face off against UW-La Crosse. After dropping the regular season opener to Gustavus Adolphus, the 'Jackets looked to turn things around, but after a four-goal surge from the Eagles in the first half and two more in the second half, UW-La Crosse was able to secure a 6-0 lead on their home turf.
The lone shot of the match came off the foot of
Kasja Kovala (Winona, Minn./Winona), but Eagles keeper Robin Blair made the save and combined with Summer Nicolai on the clean sheet.
The Yellowjackets return home Saturday as they host fellow Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) foe in UW-Stout. The opening kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Superior Choice Credit Union (SCCU) Stadium in Superior.
