ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Yellowjacket men's basketball team embarked on their final non-conference game of the regular season heading south to the Twin Cities to play Macalester. Superior was able to get big performances from Evan Bennett (Superior, Wis./Superior) and Landen Thomer (Mosinee, Wis./Mosinee) on the way to beat the Scots by a final score of 78-73.

The Yellowjackets were able to get their first lead of the game off a layup from Nick Nordaune (Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata) before Andrew Beers (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) hit a three-pointer and Jamichael Breauxsaus-Ollie (Plymouth, Minn./Fridley) made a layup to extend the lead.

The beginning of the second half saw the two teams trade buckets before Macalester was able to jump out to a seven-point lead. The 'Jackets were able to fight back off three straight three point makes from Bennett, Hayden Quimby (Menasha, Wis./Xavier) and Nordaune.
The Yellowjackets (4-9) now enter conference play with their first matchup against North Central on Wednesday. Tip-off between the 'Jackets and Rams is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. inside Clark-Danielson Gymnasium in Minneapolis.
