EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – Following a tight 4-3 loss to UW-Eau Claire Friday, the Yellowjacket women's hockey team took the ice once again Saturday against the Blugolds. The Blugolds wasted no time on Saturday, scoring two in the first period and adding three more in the second to take a 5-0 win on their home ice inside Hobbs Ice Arena.
Game Notes
- Adrienne Hansen and Kylie Wiltse logged the two UWEC goals in the first period. Hansen would strike once again at 5:18 in the second, while Ashley Wagenbach and Kenzie Keller provided the remaining goals for Eau Claire.
- Each team was called for six penalties in the contest.
- Maddie Wostrel (Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park) drew the start and saw 48 minutes of time in the net before giving way to Jayda Moyer (Albert Lea, Minn./Albert Lea).
- Avery Olenik (Thunder Bay, Ontario/Hammarskjold) led with four shots, while Ella Hornung (Stillwater, Minn./Hill-Murray) and Kendal Gustavsson (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing) finished with three.
The Yellowjackets (1-18-1, 1-6 WIAC) stay on the road next Saturday as they face No. 1 UW-River Falls. The opening faceoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. inside Hunt Arena in River Falls, Wis.
