FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Senior defenseman
Dusty Bergstrom (Pine City, Minn./Pine City) of the Yellowjacket men's hockey team has signed a professional contract with the Fayetteville Marksmen, members of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL).
Throughout his four-year career with the Yellowjackets, Bergstrom appeared in 98 games and accumulated 31 points (eight goals and 23 assists). As a senior he skated in all 26 games, scoring a goal with nine assists while logging a team-third 25 blocks from the blue line. Additionally, Bergstrom capped the 2025-26 season with a +5 rating.
Bergstrom joins the Marksmen and will suit up with former teammate
Blake Holmes (Apple Valley, Minn./St. Thomas Academy), who is in year two with Fayetteville. This season he's skated in 41 games, scoring twice and adding eight assists for 10 points.
Other former Yellowjackets currently playing in the SPHL are CJ Walker and MacGregor Sinclair (Birmingham).
The Marksmen are on the road Thursday, facing the Knoxville Ice Bears. The opening faceoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT inside the Knoxville Civic Coliseum.
