RIVER FALLS, Wis. - Coming off three straight wins the Yellowjacket women's hockey team's attention turned to first round of the WIAC playoffs where they would face UW-River Falls. In game one of the two game set, Superior would fall short as the Falcons won 5-1.  

Game Notes:  

• In the first period, UW-River Falls would get two goals from Megan Goodreau. The Falcons added a third goal in the second period from Madison Kadrlik.  

• The Yellowjackets lone goal came on the power play courtesy of Avery Olenik (Thunder Bay, Ontario/Hammarskjold), who received assists from Addison Fee (Crookston, Minn./Crookston) and Stacy Steiner (Janesville, Wis./Craig). 

• The Falcons added two more goals in the third period, the first of which came from Goodreau, finishing off the hat trick and the second from Sophia Hess. 

• Jayda Moyer (Albert Lea, Minn./Albert Lea) made the start in goal for the 'Jackets fending off 54 shots.  

• Anna Scherling (Rogers, Minn./Rogers) led the 'Jackets in shots with four while three others had two each.  

Game two between the Yellowjackets and Falcons is set for tomorrow afternoon. Puck drop from Hunt Arena is scheduled for 2 p.m.
