NEW ULM, Minn. - Coming off their loss Wednesday night to Northwestern, the Yellowjacket men's basketball team looked to bounce back on the road against Martin Luther. The 'Jackets were able to do just that as they took the victory over the Knights 79-60.  

Game Notes:  

• Early in the first half Martin Luther led by five, but Gage Braiedy (Mora, Minn./Mora) scored to tie the game at 16.  

• The Knights got their lead back up to five, but Andrew Beers (Slinger, Wis./Slinger), Landen Thomer (Mosinee, Wis./Mosinee) and Evan Bennett (Superior, Wis./Superior) helped the 'Jackets jump in front taking a 33-31 lead at halftime.  

• In the second half, Superior was able to gain control, taking a lead off scores from Bennett and Hayden Quimby (Menasha, Wis./Xavier).  

• The Knights were able to briefly take the lead back, but a three from Slayton Stroschein (Alborn, Minn./South Ridge) allowed the 'Jackets to hold the lead and never give it back up.  

• Down the stretch Stroschein, Bennett, Nathan Deprez (Kaukauna, Wis./Kaukauna) and Caiden Lecce (Kenosha, Wis./St. Joseph Catholic) helped Superior put the finishing touches on their victory over Martin Luther.  

• Bennett was the 'Jackets leading scorer dropping a game high 22 points while Thomer fell just short of a double-double scoring nine and grabbing 15 rebounds.  

• For Martin Luther, they were led in scoring by Adam Loberger, who had 13.  

The Yellowjackets (6-16, 2-7 UMAC) next travel to Bethany Lutheran. Tip-off between the Vikings and 'Jackets is set for 4:45 p.m. next Saturday in Mankato, Minn.
