MUNDELEIN, Ill. – Friday the Yellowjacket men's golf team competed in the two-day Forester Spring Invite, hosted by Lake Forest College at Countryside Golf Club. After the opening round, the Yellowjackets ranked 15th with a collective 306.
Round One Notes
- Leading the Yellowjackets were both Matthew Unger (New Richmond, Wis./New Richmond) and Blu Anderson (Amery, Wis./Amery), finishing with three-over 75's. Unger carded five birdies on the day, while Anderson logged three of his own.
- August Lang (Somerset, Wis./Somerset) finished his day with a five-over 77. He had 13 pars on the day which included a streak of seven holes.
- Finishing with a seven-over 79 was Andrew Slatten (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing), who birdied the par-five sixth hole.
- Trevor Durfee (Superior, Wis./Superior) rounded out Superior with an eight-over 80 that featured a birdie on the par-five 18th.
The Yellowjackets return for the second and final round Saturday, which is set for 10 a.m.
