BECKER, Minn. – Thursday the Yellowjacket men's golf squad took on the annual Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Preview at Pebble Creek Golf Course. In a tightly contested round with the top four teams all within a few strokes of each other, the Yellowjackets came out in fourth place collectively, shooting a 308 on Thursday.
Meet Notes
- Blu Anderson (Amery, Wis./Amery) led the 'Jackets on the day, shooting a three-over 75 with four birdies. He would finish in a tie for fifth place on the individual leaderboard.
- Andrew Slatten (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing) followed, ending his day with a 39/38 split for a five-over 77.
- Matthew Unger (New Richmond, Wis./New Richmond) and JD Glampe (Green Bay, Wis./Luxemburg Casco) each logged a 78 on the day, logging a birdie apiece.
- Colton Stupar (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids) shot a 40 on the front nine and followed with a 42 on the back nine, ending with an 82.
- Competing as individuals, Caleb Harper (Vadnais Heights, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) led the second group of Yellowjackets with a seven-over 79. Cody Olinger (White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake) and Avery Collins (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East) each shot an 80 on the day to follow.
- Ryan Kissner (Hugo, Minn./White Bear Lake) and Sam Brennan (Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) rounded out the Yellowjackets Thursday, shooting an 81 and 82, respectively.
Superior will take on the two-day Wrigglesworth Invitational, hosted by UW-Eau Claire. Action begins Sunday at the Eau Claire Golf and Country Club.
