SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Yellowjacket women's soccer team resumed their non-conference schedule Thursday evening, taking on Macalester College. After two goals in the first half, the Scots were able to send another to the back of the net in the latter half, emerging with a 3-0 win over the 'Jackets.
Match Notes
- Mikayla Edmunds found the back of the net in the 11th minute of play, opening the scoring for Macalester.
- 16 minutes later, Adi Nhouyvanisvong took a feed from Nisha Wetter and buried it home, extending the Scots' lead to 2-0.
- The final blow came at the 59th minute, as Lilly Staples fired the third and final goal for the Scots.
- The Yellowjackets had five shots in the contest, two of which came off the foot of Lilly Breitkreutz (Sartell, Minn./Sartell).
- Baylee Nygard (Saint Peter, Minn./Saint Peter) played all 90 minutes in net and fared well, making eight saves in the contest.
- Sophie Adler (Cottage Grove, Minn./East Ridge) and Charlie Lindsley (Rapid City, S.D./Stevens) each played a full 90 minutes for Superior.
The 'Jackets will enter UMAC action Wednesday where they take on North Central. The opening kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Parade Park in Minneapolis, Minn.
