MORRIS, Minn. – Friday evening marked the opener for the Yellowjacket men's cross country team, as they took on the Cougar Twilight hosted by Minnesota Morris. Leading the entire 6k race was
Maverick Hoogland (Catawba, Wis./Phillips), who took first place and led the Yellowjackets to a team score of 18.
Meet Notes
- Hoogland paced the field with a 20:18.0 on the day, while Dylan Uitto (Ashland, Wis./Ashland) followed with a personal best time of 20:27.3 for second place.
- The Yellowjacket quartet of Ben Plackner (Bovey, Minn./Greenway) (20:50.7), Dominick Meisner (Bloomer, Wis./Bloomer) (22:10.7), Jayde Canfield (Prescott, Wis./Prescott) (22:41.7) and Evan Johnson (Prentice, Wis./Phillips) (22:43.4) came in fourth-seventh place.
- Grady Wendt (Zimmerman, Minn./Zimmerman) and Milo Gomez (Ashland, Wis./Ashland) took 11th and 12th place, respectively. Wendt crossed the line at 23:09.6 while Gomez carded a 23:23.6.
- Isaiah Jordan's (Superior, Wis./Superior) time of 23:48.8 was good for 14th overall, meanwhile Oleksandr Danylov (Kyiv, Ukraine/European Collegium) and Deryck Parduhn (Ashland, Wis./Ashland) followed with race times of 24:37.6 and 25:16.6.
- Dorian Skaleski (Appleton, Wis./Appleton West) rounded out the Yellowjackets, establishing a time of 26:47.7.
The Yellowjackets return to action next Saturday, where they take on the St. Olaf Invitational. The race is scheduled for 11 a.m. in Northfield, Minn.
