SUPERIOR, Wis. - On day two of the Twin Ports Collegiate, the Yellowjacket men's golf team shaved six strokes from their round one total, shooting a 296 to claim first place at Nemadji Golf Course.
Meet Notes
- Andrew Slatten (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing) fired a one-over 73 on the day, including a birdie on the par-four 18th hole that gave him individual medalist honors.
- Matthew Unger (New Richmond, Wis./New Richmond) followed with a 73 as well, firing a 36/37 split.
- JD Glampe (Green Bay, Wis./Luxemburg Casco) and Colton Stupar (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids) each had a 75 on the day, both birdieing the par-four 10th. Stupar finished with five birdies on Saturday.
- Blu Anderson (Amery, Wis./Amery) finished out the first Yellowjacket entry, shooting a 41/35 split for a four-over 76. He eagles the par-five 11th hole.
- On Superior's second team, Ryan Kissner (Hugo, Minn./White Bear Lake) led the way with a 76, logging three birdies on the back nine.
- Cody Olinger (White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake) and Caleb Harper (Vadnais Heights, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) followed, shooting rounds of 77 and 78, respectively.
- Avery Collins (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East) (84) and Jamin Durfee (Superior, Wis./Superior) (87) wasn't far behind them, meanwhile Noah Bourque (Poplar, Wis./Northwestern) shot a 78 competing as an individual.
The Yellowjackets are back in action next weekend as they take on the Midwest Region Classic. Friday's action is set for 1:30 p.m. in Kansasville, Wis.
