KANSASVILLE, Wis. – The Yellowjacket men's golf team commenced action at the Midwest Region Classic. Hosted by Benedictine at Brighton Dale Links, Superior finished day one in a logjam for seventh place, shooting a 299 on the day.
Meet Notes
- Matthew Unger (New Richmond, Wis./New Richmond) spearheaded the 'Jackets, shooting a one-under 71 on the day. He birdied a combined six holes on the day.
- Andrew slatten shot an even-par round of 72, including three birdies on the back nine.
- Blu Anderson (Amery, Wis./Amery) and JD Glampe (Green Bay, Wis./Luxemburg Casco) followed with even splits of 41 and 37 for a 78.
- Colton Stupar (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids) rounded out the first Yellowjacket entrant, shooting a 46 on the front nine before firing a 40 on the back nine for an 86.
- The second team for Superior was led by Caleb Harper (Vadnais Heights, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran), who shot a six-over 78.
- Cody Olinger (White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake) shot an 80, while Ryan Kissner (Hugo, Minn./White Bear Lake) fired an 83.
- Avery Collins (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East) and Noah Bourque (Poplar, Wis./Northwestern) rounded out the second Yellowjacket entrant, shooting rounds of 86 and 87, respectively.
Saturday marks the second and final day of the Midwest Region Classic, beginning at 8 a.m.
