The 2015-16 season marks the second year for Brian “BB” Burtnyk as the Head Assistant Coach under Coach Paul Eberhardt.
In his role as an assistant coach Burtnyk assists in all areas of the program including recruiting, scouting and player development as well as the Yellowjackets Head Junior Varsity coach.
Burtnyk is a native of Phoenix, Arizona where he was a three year letterman at Desert Vista High School. Following a successful career at Desert Vista, Burtnyk was recruited by Coach Eberhardt to play at Scottsdale Community College in Scottsdale, Arizona.
After one season with SCC, Burtnyk continued his playing career at the University of Great Falls in Great Falls, Montana where he studied Health and Human Performance. Burtnyk was also a member of the UGF golf team for two seasons.
Burtnyk is the son of Don and Mari Burtnyk who still reside in Phoenix. Burtnyk’s brother Micky is the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach for Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts.
Burtnyk currently resides in Superior.
