Gavin Rasmussen is in his first season as an assistant women's hockey coach under head coach Bre Simon in 2025-26. He aids the program in all of its facets, while leading the team's defensive efforts.
Rasmussen has previously served as a coach for Minnesota Hockey's Youth Tier 1 14U, where he mentored some of the best players in the area. He also has garnered experience through various youth hockey camps during the summer months.
Rasmussen is no stranger to Yellowjacket Athletics, having played four years for the men's hockey team from 2021-25. He skated in 94 games while logging 20 goals and 24 assists for 44 total points, and was named a captain as a senior.
As an undergraduate, Rasmussen worked at Wessman Arena for four years assisting with arena maintenance and driving the Zamboni. He also has experience in the landscaping field.
Rasmussen resides in Cloquet, Minn.
