Liza Shelquist enters her first season as an assistant women's soccer coach under Allison DeGroot in 2024. She specializes in technical aspects of the game, while enhancing team culture and overseeing general program operations.
Shelquist is no stranger to the program, having played four years for the Yellowjackets from 2015-18 as a midfielder and forward. Playing in 72 matches, she received the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference's (UMAC) honorable mention and sportsmanship awards, along with being named a team captain in her senior season.
Graduating from UW-Superior with Bachelor of Science degrees in psychology and business administration in 2019, Shelquist dove into jobs involving human resources and insurance sells/management.
Currently, Shelquist serves in the role of Career Development Manager for UW-Superior, a position she has held for the last two years.
