Lynne Deadrick is entering her 23rd season as head coach of the Yellowjacket volleyball team in 2025. She is the all-time wins leader among UW-Superior volleyball coaches. In addition to her coaching duties, she serves as the senior woman administrator.

The 2024 campaign saw Deadrick post the most single-season victories of her career. She led the 'Jackets to a 24-8 mark in the campaign, coupled with an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) record of 12-2. Following action in tournaments leading up to conference action, the Yellowjackets went on a seven-match winning streak throughout the month of October, including a thrilling 3-2 upset over No. 18-ranked Northwestern, solidifying a spot in the postseason tournament. Superior would advance to the UMAC title game for the third time in as many seasons before falling to the Eagles. Jenna Anderson prevailed as one of the nation's best defenders as a senior, being named the UMAC's player and defensive player of the year while grasping a slew of regional honors after collecting 805 throughout the season, a mark that led all of NCAA Division III. Additionally, Makenna Hohbein was named the co-rookie of the year after solidifying a starting role as a freshman.

Deadrick's Yellowjackets in 2023 finished the campaign with an overall record of 19-11 while ending UMAC play at 10-4. After entering the Ripon College Classic to begin the season, the 'Jackets hosted the annual Subway Stinger Classic. For the first time since 2018, the Yellowjackets obtained a 4-0 record, sweeping the tournament field. Anderson and Kaylin Plautz were named to the Subway Stinger Classic All-Tournament Team for leading the defensive and offensive outputs on the weekend. UWS would advance to the conference championship match as the No. 3 seed, but ultimately fell to Northwestern, who advanced to the NCAA Division III Elite Eight match. Anderson and Plautz, alongside Maiana Stark, would receive All-UMAC honors.

Deadrick led the Yellowjackets to a second-place regular season finish in the UMAC standings in 2018, their best since joining the league in 2015. Superior was 20-12 overall and 14-2 in conference. The 20 wins were the second-most for Deadrick at the time, surpassed only by the 21 victories the 2007 team accrued. The conference season was highlighted by the 'Jackets' straight-set victory over Northwestern Oct. 16. The win inside Mertz Mortorelli Gym snapped the Eagles' 65-match regular-season winning streak in UMAC play. Deadrick claimed her first UMAC Coach of the Year award, while helping a league-best five student-athletes to all-conference plaudits.

Deadrick came to UW-Superior from Vermillion Community College (VCC) in Ely, Minn., where she was the head volleyball coach for 12 seasons, compiling a 127-192-2 record and guiding the Ironwomen to a region championship and a fifth place national tournament finish in 1999.

Additionally, Deadrick obtains 13 years of experience coaching collegiate softball and 15 years as a head high school basketball coach. 

Deadrick enjoyed a prolific athletic career at the college level, beginning at VCC where she was a four-sport athlete, competing in basketball, softball and track and field in addition to volleyball. In 1983, Deadrick and her squad made a national tournament appearance, finishing 10th in the nation among all junior college volleyball teams.

After earning her associates degree from Vermillion, it was on to St. Scholastica where she played volleyball, helping the Saints claim the 1984 Little College Athletic Association national title. The following year, Deadrick enrolled at Minnesota Duluth, continued her volleyball career and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in broad field and life science in 1987. At that time, she also obtained her Minnesota Coaching Certification. In 1996, Deadrick earned her Master's Degree from UW-Superior in instruction. 

Deadrick resides in Esko, Minn., with her husband Shane, who serves as the transfer coordinator in the Office of Admissions at UW-Superior. They have three children - Kory, Kayla and Keely, a four-year volleyball letterwinner for the Yellowjackets.
