Derek Johnson is in his sixth season as the assistant men's and women's tennis coach at UW-Superior in 2023-24.
In addition to his duties at UW-Superior, Johnson is also the head boys and girls tennis coach at Cloquet (Minn.) High School, a position he has held since 2012. In his time with the Lumberjacks, Johnson has guided Cloquet to two state tournament appearances (2016, 2018) and twice has been the Minnesota Section 7A Coach of the Year (2016, 2017).
A native of Cloquet, Minn., Johnson graduated from Cloquet High School in 2008 and attended UW-Superior. He majored in Wellness and Fitness Management and minored in Sports Management, graduating with his Bachelor of Science degree in 2012.
