Lucas Richard begins his first season as an assistant strength under PJ Piotrowski in 2026-27. Alongside Piotrowski, the two will oversee nearly 400 Yellowjacket student-athletes across 20 varsity sports and two club sports.

Richard comes to UW-Superior following a stint at the University of Wisconsin, where he served as a strength and conditioning assistant from January 2025-May 2026 after completing a six-month internship. There he was responsible for planning programming for several teams, including cheer, dance, and spirit squad. Richard also directed interns on policies and procedures throughout this time with the Badgers. Additionally, he was a teaching assistant in the UW-Madison School of Education.

Prior to his time at UW-Madison, Richard was both a swim instructor and enrollment specialist at Foss Swim School. He was responsible for designing detailed swim programs for all ages and assisting the enrollment process with new and returning customers.

Richard attended Saint Louis University and graduated in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. He was a member of the club men's volleyball team and also served as the treasurer and secretary, organizing various fundraisers and maintaining the program's budget. He would further his education with a Master's Degree from UW-Madison in May 2026.

Richard is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
