The Yellowjackets struggled to get anything going for much of game, connecting on just 26.8 percent of their shots (15-of-56) and went for more than nine minutes without a point on the way to dropping a 61-41 decision to UW-Oshkosh at the Kolf Sports Center in Oshkosh.

UW-Superior dropped to 10-3 overall and 3-2 in WIAC action while UW-Oshkosh upped their record to 11-2 overall and 2-1 in league play.  The loss also snapped a six-game winning streak for the Yellowjackets.

Neither team gained much of an edge in the opening nine minutes before a three-pointer by Allyssa Lindberg (Marquette, Mich./Marquette) gave the Yellowjackets a 13-10 advantage with 10:58 left in the first half.

Britnee Blake (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) followed up with a driving layup to give UW-Superior a 15-14 lead with 9:33 remaining on the clock.

But the Yellowjackets would go scoreless for the rest of the half as the Titans went on a 20-0 run to take a 31-15 lead into the intermission following a three-pointer by UW-Oshkosh's Katie Kitzke in the final 10 seconds of the frame.

UW-Superior never got closer than 12 points the rest of the way as the Titans limited the Yellowjackets to just 26.5 percent shooting (9-of-34) on the way to sealing the victory.

Offensively, the Yellowjackets were paced by Sally Linzmeier (Valders, Wis./Valders) and Kristen Nett (Green Bay, Wis./Bay Port), who each scored nine points.  Connie Urmanski (Edgar, Wis./Edgar) also reached a notable milestone, scoring her 1,000th career point on a three-point play with 5:15 left in regulation.

UW-Oshkosh was led by Kitzke with a game-high 13 points. Heather Conroy added 12 points while Katelyn Kuehl contributed 10 points for the Titans.

The Yellowjackets return to action Saturday when they travel to UW-Plattevile to take on the Pioneers. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
