Not much went right for the UW-Superior women's basketball team Saturday afternoon. And the UW-Oshkosh Titans were only too happy to take advantage.

Behind the strength a balanced offensive attack, UW-Oshkosh led throughout and outscored the Yellowjackets 50-27 in the second half on the way to an 86-52 win over UW-Superior at the Kolf Sports Center in Oshkosh.

The loss snapped UW-Superior's school record eight-game winning streak and handed the Yellowjackets (8-4 overall, 3-1 WIAC) their first conference defeat of 2014-15. With the win, UW-Oshkosh upped their overall mark 11-1 and improved to 3-0 in league play.

UW-Oshkosh took command from the start, jumping out to a 14-4 lead after a layup by Marissa Selner with 15:44 remaining in the opening half.

A driving basket by Taylor Schmidt upped the Titans' margin to 20-6 before a three-point play by Grace Kennedy (Wausau, Wis./Newman Catholic) and a layup by Allie Nelson (Augusta, Wis./Augusta) cut the deficit to 20-11 with 10:05 left on the clock.

The Titans refused to wilt however, taking their largest lead of the opening half at 29-16 following a layup from Eliza Campbell at the 4:19 mark before heading to halftime holding a 36-25 lead.

From there, UW-Oshkosh scored 16 of the first 18 points to start the second half in taking a 52-27 lead on a score by Katelyn Kuehl with 14:31 left in regulation.

The Yellowjackets never got closer than 19 points the rest of the way as UW-Oshkosh connected on 56.9 percent of their shots from the field for the game.

UW-Superior was led offensively by Sally Linzmeier (Valders, Wis./Valders) with 13 points and nine rebounds. Brynn Liljander (Isanti, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti) added 11 points for the Yellowjackets.

Selner finished with a game-high points while Schmidt added 17, Kuehl 12 and Alex Richard 10 for the Titans.
