The Yellowjacket volleyball team went on the road Wednesday to take on Minnesota Morris, looking to advance to the final of the UMAC Volleyball tournament. It was not meant to be, as the Yellowjackets fell to Morris in straight sets: 25-19, 25-13, 25-7.

The first set saw the Cougars jump out to an early 10-3 lead. The Yellowjackets were able to go on a 3-0 run, capped by a Bailey Romans (Duluth, Minn./East) kill, to cut the lead to 10-6. That is all the closer the Yellowjackets were able get, as Morris built up a 21-10 lead on their way to a 25-19 set victory.

The second set saw Morris use an early 9-1 run to build a lead that the Yellowjackets were never able to recover from. Morris finished the set with runs of 4-0, 3-0, and 3-0 as they took the set 25-13.

The third set played out much like the second, with Morris going on an early 7-0 run to take control of the set. The set was never in doubt as Morris scored nine of the final 10 points to take the set 25-7 and the match 3-0.

The Yellowjackets struggled to get anything going in the match, as they ended with a team attack percentage of .039. They also committed 14 attack errors, and 11 receiving errors.

Minnesota Morris finished the match with a team attack percentage of .311

The Yellowjackets finish the season with an overall record of 18-14. They finished the regular season in third place in the UMAC standings with a 6-2 conference record.
