The Yellowjacket men's basketball team was back in action Sunday afternoon looking to take home another conference victory as they faced off against Crown College. This match up was over early, as the Yellowjackets dominated Crown en route to their third consecutive victory.

The first half did not start out the way the Yellowjackets would have liked, as they fell behind Crown 8-7 with 16:08 remaining. The Crown lead was short lived as the Yellowjackets went on a 10-0 run, capped by a Montroy Scott (Fridley, Minn./Columbia Heights) 3-pointer, to take a 17-8 lead with 13:47 remaining.

Crown fought their way back, cutting the Yellowjacket deficit to three with 11:23 remaining. Three points was the closest that Crown would get the rest of the half, as the Yellowjackets pushed their lead to 23 before going into the half up 52-34.

With the game firmly in hand going into the second half, Yellowjacket Coach Paul Eberhardt was able to get significant playing time for many of his reserves. 17 Yellowjacket players played in this game, as the Yellowjackets defeated Crown 85-66.

The Yellowjackets were led by Brian Lindblom (Spooner, Wis./Spooner), who finished with 24 points and six rebounds.

Nate Kalien (Chippewa Falls, Wis./Chippewa Falls) scored 17 for the Yellowjackets, while Scott added 16 off the bench. Zach Schradle (Clayton, Wis./Clayton) filled up the stat sheet, finishing with 10 points, six rebounds, five assists, and three steal.

Crown was led by James Brown, who finished with 16 points. Austin VanDerHeyden had 11 points, while Josh Volness finished with 10.

The Yellowjackets shot 43.9% from the field, going 6-11 from beyond the 3-point arc, while hitting 21-26 from the free throw line.

Crown shot 34.5% from the field, going 8-25 from beyond the 3-point arc, while hitting 18-21 from the free throw line.

The Yellowjackets finished with 18 turnovers. Crown finished with 16 turnovers.

Next up for the Yellowjackets (7-5, 4-1 UMAC) travel over the bridge Wednesday, January 6 when they take on the University of Minnesota Duluth. Game time from Romano Gymnasium is set for 12:00 p.m.
